Hey, who does he think he is to write a cookbook? It takes a lot of guts to do that.
It may be true that I have guts to put my favourite recipes together in a cookbook, but what can I say, I looove to cook, to eat and share my culinary taste with my friends.
I wrote this book for several reasons. The first and foremost, I wanted to put all my recipes in one place. Is there something worst than having a bunch of scrap papers with recipes on them or having over 60 cookbooks and not knowing where to start when it comes time to cook something? OK, there might be things that are worse but we will talk about these another time…
I also wrote this book while thinking about the great times spent with good friends, around one (or several….) bottles of good wine and great food on the table.
For me, these recipes are part of a virtual world. They can be modified anytime, depending on the available ingredients and your taste. These recipes have been adapted from existing recipes or are a genuine creation. Cooking is like creating a masterpiece such as a painting or a sculpture. You have the basic ingredients, you know how to use them and have an idea of the final result you want to get. There is always room for creative thinking and adjustments during the process. I encourage you to play with these recipes, to adapt them, modify them and even create new one from them. If you have problems or find my explanations not clear enough, contact me.
Writing this book allowed me to remember some great moments spent with great company. Basically, every single page of this book has brought back memories. Isn’t that fantastic?
